Charles F. McClain passed away May 7 2014 at Wesleyan Healthcare. Charlie, no longer confused, now home with His Savior

Charlie was born April 5, 1925 in Jerome Indiana, the son of the late Charles and Rose Mae McClain.

After attending Swayzee School, he was inducted into the Army 192nd General Hospital. He served in Central Europe. He earned the EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was discharged in March 1946.

Charles and Eileen Bannon were married April 20, 1946, celebrating 52 years.

Charles did odd jobs, worked 2 years at Hoosier Soy Bean Mill. He drove a truck picking up 10 gallon cans of milk from 1950 through 1966. He worked at RCA for 21 years, the last six on electrical gang. After retiring, he worked for 2 years for Chuck's Tree Removal.
He was a member of Grace Community Church, Marion.

Charles and Eileen had five children, Margaret Ann (Randy) Wagoner, Plainfield, Marsha (Dave) Strong, Peru, Mary McClain, Marion, Kathy (Gene) Brock, Tacoma, WA and Jim McClain, Van Buren. Charles is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Hope Staley, Indianapolis, Crissy Sprang, Mich., Joe Brock, Lakeland, Fla., Danny Brock, Mich., Heather Compton, Union Grove, Wis., Lawrence Brock, Wash., Julie McClain, Van Buren, Mark McClain, Van Buren, Mindy Wagoner, Norris, Bethany Bramam, and Becky Wagoner, all of Plainfield; and nineteen great-grandchildren;

Charles married Doris Whitehurst Shelby on January 9, 1999, now having three step children, Penny Cannon, Rochester, NY, Pam Harrell, Marion, and Ken Whitehurst, Columbia City. He has six step grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; a brother; and 1st wife, Eileen.

Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington Street, Swayzee, Indiana. Funeral Service will be at 10 am on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington Street, Swayzee, Indiana with Pastors rick Jett and Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will be in Knox Chapel Cemetery, Pt. Isabel, Indiana.
