Enoch Ellsworth Ashcraft, 71, retired Decatur plumber, died in St. Mary's Hospital at 8:05 p.m. Monday. He had been ill for three weeks with a heart ailment.

Mr. Ashcraft was born near Mt. Auburn Jan. 25, 1865, and was married to Miss Nina Keith of Illinopolis. They lived at 1033 North Water Street.

He leaves his wife, three sons, Aubrey K., Chester L., and Harold K. Ashcraft, all of Decatur; five daughters, Mrs. Hazel Dickinson, Mt. Auburn, Mrs. Alta Jenkins, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Margureite Pool, Mrs. Verna Spitzer and Mrs. Mary Scott, all of Decatur. He also leaves a sister Mrs. Alice Stogdell, Edinburg, and 12 grandchildren.
