THOMAS BRONAUGH was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky in 1794 and the son of WILLIAM and LUCY (BRYAN) BRONAUGH. He was married twice.
1. His first marriage was to CYNTHIA TINSLEY on 16 January 1815 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of JAMES TINSLEY and ELIZABETH FORD and a younger sister of JANE "JENNY" TINSLEY who was married to THOMAS BRONAUGH's uncles WILLIAM BRONAUGH and then after he died, TALIAFERRO BRONAUGH.

THOMAS and CYNTHIA [TINSLEY] BRONAUGH had one son: ROBERT NEWTON BRONAUGH who was born on 8 November 1819 in Lincoln County, Kentucky and died on 18 August 1894 in Hendricks County, IN. CYNTHIA apparently died during or shortly after his birth.

2. His second marriage was to his first wife's sister CHARLOTTE TINSLEY on 9 October 1820 in Lincoln County, Kentucky and they became the parents of eight children who were all born in Kentucky. They include:

THOMAS BRONAUGH served in the 13th Regiment, Dudley's Kentucky Militia during the War of 1812. During the mid 1830's he moved to Hendricks County, Indiana where he lived for a few years before relocating to Bolivar in Polk County, Missouri and that is where he died in 1857.
