SUSAN SGRITTA VALENTI, 43 years old, died peacefully in the arms of her friends and family at Greenwich Hospital after a courageous battle against breast cancer on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Christopher J. Valenti Sr., and her son, Christopher J. Valenti, Jr. of Cos Cob. Susan is also survived by her mother, Ann Sgritta and is pre-deceased by her father, Salvatore Sgritta of Cos Cob. Susan has one sister, Kathi Carella and brother-in-law, Tony Carella of Norwalk along with her nephew, Antonio (Scooter) Carella. Susan is also survived by: her brother-in-law, Matt Valenti and sister-in-law, Susan Valenti (the other one!) of New Canaan, along with her nieces, Maggie and Callie Valenti, her sister-in-law, Ann Sanger and brother-in-law, Rob Sanger of California, a niece, Abigail and nephew, Trevor, sister-in-in-law, Tina Rosenfeld and brother-in-law, Ron Rosenfeld of Ridgefield, nephew, Jason Rosenfeld and niece, Leah Rosenfeld, and brother-in-law. Rex Bisceglia of White Plains, New York. Susan grew up in Cos Cob, Connecticut and graduated from Greenwich High School. She worked as a teacher at Putnam Indian Field School in Cos Cob and later worked as a receptionist at David Ogilvy & Associates, Coldwell Banker and Greenwich Fine Properties. She will forever be remembered for her love of children and animals, especially the children she often babysat for...Evie Kay, Harrison, Jakey Boy, Max, Bonnie, Maggie and Callie in addition to many others. Susan was a selfless person who was always willing to offer her time, love and a helping hand without ever being asked. She often cared for the elderly in her family who she is now joyfully again spending time with in heaven. She had an infectious laugh and a special smile that will forever be remembered. "A cheerful look brings joy to the heart." (Proverbs 15:30) A celebration of Susan's life will be held at her Memorial Service on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Harvest Time Assembly of God, 1338 King Street Greenwich, CT 06831. Susan often took in foster dogs from the dog rescue shelter, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc. who blessed her with her current beloved dog, Tiffany. She requested that anyone interested make a donation in her memory and mail it directly to Abandoned Angels, P.O. Box 545426, Flushing, NY 11354. in lieu of flowers donations may be given for the care of her son. Checks should be made out to Christopher J.
