He was the great-grandson of John Edens, early pioneer of Houston Co, Texas.
Originally buried at Trinity Memorial Park, Howard Co., Texas at his death. His remains were re-interred at 7-E Cemetery in 2012 by his surviving children.
This cemetery was set up as a private cemetery for the Edens Family.

Earl lived with his parents Balis and Mattie, Mables parents were traveling the country picking cotton for farmers. They stopped at the Edens farm to pick cotton for him. Earl was looking for a wife, he ask Mable to stay and marry him, so her parents left her there to be wed and moved on.
