He was the husband of the late Norma E. (Byerts) Baker, with whom he was married for 56 loving years. Mr. Baker was born in York on January 18, 1920, to the late Charles and Mabel (Eisenhart) Baker. He was a long time member of the former York Gospel Center and a former Sunday school teacher.
He was a 1938 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and attended the Philadelphia School of Bible. Philip was a truck driver for the former Motor Freight Express for 20 years, Bond Sanitary Products Inc. and the former J.C. Leonard Co. In addition, he formerly worked for Stauffer Biscuit Co. for ten years. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Baker is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Baker of Dover and Carol S. Baker and her husband John of Manchester; one son, David P. Baker of York; six grandchildren, Krista M. Baker of Philadelphia, Scott E. Baker of York, Brittany R. Baker of Fort Polk, La., Tawny B., Erika L., Philip J. Baker all of Manchester; and one nephew, Lynn Carroll of York.
