Gilbert Lee Anderson, 62, died Sunday at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.
Rosary services is scheduled at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Chinook with Father Jim O'Neil officiating.
The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with Father Jim O'Neil officiating. Graveside will be held at 1 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.
He was born May 15,1931 in Havre, the son of Bert and Ruby Anderson. He attended school and high school in Havre. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served two years. On Nov. 26,1956 at Havre he married the former Betty Springer. To this union were born seven children. One of life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He also liked the outdoors, his farming and cattle. He served on many boards and was an active leader in 4-H for seventeen years.
He was preceded in death by his father Bert Anderson, and one sister, Alice Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Harlem, a daughter Deb Newman and husband Michael with grandson James Lee of Harlem. Tammie Newman and Chad Newman of O'Neil, Neb., daughter Marie of Harlem, sons Bill of Harlem, and partner Gay Miller of Zurich, Bruce and his wife Sally and grandchildren Chris, and Jenny of Havre, son Jim and wife Tracy of Havre, son Scoot and his wife Missy and granddaughter Laurel of Fairfield, son, Michael John and wife Jeanne and grandchildren, Michael Todd and Melissa of Billings, his mother of Havre, one sister Lila Armstrong and family of Geraldine, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
