Bena was a loving and devoted homemaker and helped to operate the family agricultural and dairy farm in Upper Mifflin Twp. for many years. She was a member of the Newburg First Church of God.
She is survived by seven sons, Robert G. Zimmerman Jr., Fred E. Zimmerman, James E. Zimmerman and Richard L. Zimmerman, all of Newville, David H. Zimmerman and John H. Zimmerman, both of Newburg, and Barry S. Zimmerman of Shippensburg; three daughters, Linda M. Diehl of Shippensburg and Sandra L. Thompson and Marjorie D. Zimmerman, both of Newville; one brother, Harry Michael Hocker of Texas, two sisters; Ruth Black of Carlisle and Carolyn Kough of Newville, 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bena was predeceased by three brothers; John H. Hocker, Albert C. Hocker, Jr. and Frank E. Hocker, three sisters; Marguerite Bender, Nellie Hollinger and Lillian Drexler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastors Clark Dunkle and Dale Miller officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be on Sunday from 2 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Newburg First Church of God, P. O.
