Obituary in The Noblesville Ledger (Noblesville, Indiana) February 8, 1999 page 2 Obit info submitted by: Kent Pack (47806221)

Wife of Marion Leroy King 1905-1987, together they had five children. Aunt Dot. was a family orientated lady. Loved her family around her, oil painting, log cabin life in the woods, in Nashville, IN - Brown County. Family reunions brought all of them together.
VanSickle's and King's and friends.
Children: Maynard 'Vars' Alfred King, Tilden Anderson King, Nancy Caroline King, Anna Belle King, and Donavon Leon King.
Parents of Dorothy are Clifford Vansickle and Rosa Belle Payne - both are said to be buried in Washington Memorial Cemetery, Marion Co, IN.
4/26/2007 While reading some information in Nancy's package, that's what is told. And James, her father, died a few months later from "grief." Seven little girls --six that lived.
In another letter in the "package" it says that my grandmother, Rosa was sent to Crawfordsville to be raised by relatives.....other sisters to TN and VA relatives.
Dated 5/5/2007 Letter received from Nancy King Coddington to Roseann Marschke Gary
Copy of letter from Dorothy (Vansickle-King) to Fate (Lafayette Green Payne) Payne dated 28 Jan 1992. Much earlier I had sent her a letter requesting family info - especially about Aunt Mary -
Rosa, James's daughter could have had a mother also named 'Mary' - Maybe Joe's computer will finally lift the mystery about James' life
Tues morn, Jan 28th 1992 (Letter)
I just thank you, my dear Fate, for the articles concerning the Payne family and references "concerning our Momma, Rosa Belle Payne. She was given to "Uncle Anderson Payne", (one of 6 little girls (mother died at birth and he, Dad, died of grief a few months later) divided between the Payne families. She was loved and raised to be a lady, but wasn't sent to school!
Near 16 she was sent to Indianapolis, Indiana to Aunt Mary Neal's home, where, her husband-to-be had been selected for her by Aunt Mary. I am the oldest of "Us 7". I remember of her talking of love and pride of her inheritance of the Payne's. When I was old enough to drive a car, I took her to night school to learn to read and write! She learned easily and quick! She was so happy and proved to have accomplished this! Though we were poor, (we didn't know it)! Mamma made everything so good, and interesting for her family. She entertained us with her "clog" dancing! Our Dad was a loving big "teddy bear" who adored his wife!
Fate, I started out to write a "thank you" note for the pictures and, I drifted into reminiscing! I have a picture of Momma, sitting "side saddle" on a "Tennessee Walker". I want to loan it to you as it is very precious to me and our family. She was "horsewoman" of the year one year. I have lovingly shared a small part of Rosa Belle Payne's life with you.
We love you, Jesus and me, Dorothy VanSickle King.
This letter was addressed to Fate (Lafayette G. Payne), male, whose name is also refered as L. G. 'Lafayette' G. Payne from Nancy King Coddington, daughter of Dorothy Vansickle and Marion King.
