Lake Pleasant-----Lily Rosa (Stowe) Matherson, 98 years young, of Walcott St. died Saturday (10-28-17) at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Waterbury, VT on February 6, 1919 the youngest daughter of Herbert W. and Lilly (Brown) Stowe.

Lily moved to this area when she was three years old. She attended local schools and graduated from the Montague school system. .

Lily was a remarkable artist with thread crocheting her beautiful doilies in lovely shapes and sizes. An amateur camera buff she never missed an opportunity to take pictures of her family. Self-taught she loved to play her guitar. Lily had the purest of hearts and to know her was to love her she will be deeply missed.

She leaves her son Brian of Lake Pleasant her loving and devoted nieces Cheryl, Jackie, Cindy. Prill ,Sue and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1982, brother Guy in 1958, sisters Gertrude in 1988 and Florence in 2010.

Services will be held Thursday (11-2-17) at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. A. calling hour will be from 10 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Humane Society 163 Montague Rd. Leverett, MA. 01054.
