Robert Burgher Pirtle was the son of William Coleman Pirtle and Mary Ellen "Kate" Robinson Pirtle. His siblings were: William Thomas Pirtle, Marie Celeste "Maud" Pirtle (Taylor), Mary Allene Pirtle (Marsh), Nannie Kate Pirtle (Martin), Arthur Coleman Pirtle, and Edna Lucille Pirtle (Doyle), and Alfred Austin Pirtle. Robert Burgher Pirtle married Margaret Louise Stevens Banning on July 21, 1907 in Jonesboro, Craighead, AR. He legally adopted Margaret's daughter, Eva R Banning, and her last name was changed to Pirtle. There were no children of this marriage.
