Roy T. Wallace Jr., 66, Darlington, Wis., formerly of Rock Island, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at his home.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island.

Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wallace was born June 5, 1932, in Rock Island to Roy T. Wallace Sr. and Verda (Voss) Wallace.

He grew up in Rock Island and was a graduate of Rock Island High School. He attended Augustana College and finished his education at Eureka College in Eureka, Ill., where he raised his family. He returned to Davenport for many more years and had spent the last year in Darlington, Wis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved laughter, music and his grandchildren.

He had been employed with Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 33 years until his retirement.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bill VonBrethorst, Jackson, Wyo., Lynne and Mark Johnson, Darlington, Wis., and Beth Steveson, Prescott, Ariz.; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth Wallace, Littleton, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren.
