He was born in Rockingham County to the late Louis Raymond Cobb and Mary Webster Cobb. Bud was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Yanceyville. He was employed by the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier after his retirement from Tobacco Farming.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Barrett Cobb of the home, his daughter, Emily Cobb Russell and his son, Aaron Newman Cobb, 2 grandchildren, Brendan Newman Hoback and Mical Cole Russell all of Yanceyville; one brother, John Louis Cobb of Greensboro, and three sisters, Evelyn C. Oakley and Peggy C. Briggs both of Leasburg, and Barbara L. Cobb of Yanceyville.
The family received friends 7PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2009 at Brooks and White Funeral Home and other time at the home.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Hall officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery located off of Mise Road, Yanceyville.
