Betty received her formal education from Kinkaid School, Rosemary Hall and Finch College. During her adult life she was a member of the Junior League and the River Oaks Garden Club. As a Founder of the Neuhaus Education Center, she gave considerable time and effort to ensure its success in its educational mission. On a personal note she enjoyed bridge and croquette and spent her summers on Galveston Bay at the TCYC. Of her personality it is said that she was the epitome of an adventuresome, strong and somewhat opinionated woman with a great sense of humor who loved her children and friends unconditionally.
