Age 79, of Owosso, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at New Life Worship Center, 1426 N. Hickory St. with Pastor Ron Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel, 1106 S. Washington and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the New Life Worship Center. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Erma was born March 4, 1928, in Owosso, the daughter of Earl William and Emma Myrtle (Sprague) Andrews. She married Donald Porter in Owosso in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Porter was a member of New Life Worship Center. She enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening. Survivors include three children, Tom Putnam of Durand, Rosie (Francis) Wrigglesworth of Romeo and Michealene Treat of Forest City, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Hanifan of Owosso; brothers, Eugene Andrews of East Lansing, Harold Andrews of Corunna, Glenn R. (Betty) Andrews of Sanford, Fla., Alvin (Joan) Andrews of Midland, Gerald (Linda) Andrews of Kissamee, Fla., Ervin (Katie) Andrews of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne and Leroy; daughter, Donna Jean Vermillion; son, Richard Putnam; and grandson, Brian Wrigglesworth.
