Our loving mother and grandmother, Grace G. Kortus, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2007. She was 81.
Grace was born October 6, 1925, in Lynden, WA, to Harry and Hattie Holtrop.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flowers, and her family. Her face would light up when her great-grandchildren would come into the room.
Surviving Grace are 3 daughters, Gean (Dean) Cress, Bernie (Bob) Rottinghaus, and Geri (Mark) Trudeau; 1 son Jon (Donna) Kortus; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Egbert (Lola) Holtrop; 3 sisters, Glenice (JR) Honrud, Nina (Robert) Reddick, and Ann (Rene) Geleynse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Grace in death were her parents; her first husband Delbert Geleynse in 1952, then John Kortus in 1997; 1 sister Fern; and 3 brothers, John, Joe and Elwyn.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Silver Beach Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice.
