Obituary:
Tryon Joseph Branton, 79, of Stephenville died at 8:25 a.m. Friday in Stephenville Hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lacy Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Emil Becker will officiate, assited by the Rev. James Gillespie.
Additional services will be at 4 p.m. in McDade First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in McDade Cemetery.
Born July 6, 1898, in Bastrop County, he was a retired employee of Southern Union Gas Corp. and had lived here since 1970, moving from Austin. He married Faith Hodge Oct. 16, 1930, in Elgin. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jo Butler of Stephenville; three brothers, B. M. and Alton Greenhaw, both of McDade and L. B. Greenhaw of Austin; three sisters, Modene Taylor, Lucille Samuelson and Verna Lee Guentzel, all of Austin; and a grandson.
The family requests remembrances be in the form of contributions to First Baptist Church.
