Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late John Waddell and Kathleen Robinson Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Loren Waddell Blackmon of Sumter and Gwynn Blackmon of Jacksonville, Florida; and one sister, Janice B. Setzer of West Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother, Loren Blackmon, 1965 Follin Drive.
