Pat was born Aug. 28, 1911 in Sheridan, the daughter of Ralph and Susan (Tubb) Rhea. She was raised at Sayle, Mont. (Powder River County), the middle child of her brother, Robert, and younger sister, Evalyce (Peg).
She attended high school and business school in Sheridan, earning a scholarship, and after graduation taught in a country school in Spotted Horse, Wyo.
In 1936, Pat and Howard Peterson were married. They lived and worked in Utah for a few years and then returned to Wyoming where they worked at a Dude Ranch in Birney, Mont., until they settled in Ranchester, where they owned and operated a restaurant, Pat's Café, for several years.
Pat was known from far and near for her gourmet cooking – her specialties being homemade rolls, doughnuts and pies, which she was famous for all her life. Following the sale of the restaurant, Pat worked at the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Sheridan until they moved to Torrington, where Howard was a brand inspector, and Pat worked at the Citizen's National Bank.
Howard passed away in 1963, and Pat worked at the bank until her retirement. On July 10, 1970, Pat and Arthur Damrow were wed. He was a longtime construction worker, rancher and farmer for many years in Torrington. He was well known for his expertise in the farming industry.
Pat and Art enjoyed many years owning and operating their farms until Art's retirement in 2005. They were very active for their years – Pat still playing cards with her friends. She was one of the first charter members of the Bethel Baptist Church in Torrington.
Pat is survived by her husband, Art, of Torrington; a sister, Peg Hoffman and her husband George of Billings, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Howard Peterson; a brother, Robert Rhea; and a stepson, Vernon Damrow.
