Jerry was the sixth of seven children born to E. C. "Mike" Rosenberger and his wife, Letticia E. Moore. Jerry was a twin to Geraldine Rosenberger. He was married twice. First to Leona Stritesky in November of 1932 in Cedar Rapids (Linn County), Iowa. Sadly they separated and divorced by August 1941. Jerry married for a second time to Carolyn J. Tresnak; a daughter of Anton J. Tresnak and his wife, Agnes F. Cacek. Jerry and Carolyn celebrated their wedding on June 15, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, also. They have three sons; Steven, Larry (was killed auto accident in 1970) and Michael.

Survivors include two sons, Steven of Amana and Michael of Fox Lake, Ill.
He was born Sept. 7, 1911, in Woodland, Ill., and attended Oakland Road Bible Assembly Church. He attended George Williams College, Chicago. He also served during World War II in the Navy. He was employed by the Central YMCA for 43 years, where he was Health Club Director prior to his retirement in 1976.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry.
