"Mrs. Odeide Mouton, widow of J. Sosthene Mouton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. G. Voorhies, in this city Friday at 2:23 p. m., aged 78 years and 9 months. Mrs. Mouton was the daughter of the late ex-Governor Alexander Mouton. She was a lady of culture and refinement and very highly esteemed by all whose privilege it was to know her.
She is survived by two sisters, Mathilde Mouton, widow of Gen. Frank Gardner, and Mrs. (Dr.) H. D. Guidry; four sons, Alex, Charles O., Fred and F. G. Mouton, and three daughters, Mrs. Ed. G. Voorhies, Miss Coralie Mouton and Miss Aimee Mouton, a Sister of the Sacred Heart Convent.
Funeral services were held at St. John's Catholic church Saturday at 3:30 p. m."
