JESSIE M. CLAWSON, 86, of Fairmount City RD 1, Red Bank Township, Clarion County, died Monday, Feb. 25, 1985, in the Clarion Osteopathic Community Hospital, Clarion.
A daughter of Thomas M. and Margaret Bish Watt, she was born Oct. 16, 1898, in Shelocta.
Mrs. Clawson was a former school teacher and belonged to the Trinity United Church of Christ in Alcola.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Leone) Gareis of Fairmount City RD 1, and Mrs. Wayne (Lorraine) Laughlin of Tervose [sic]; a sister, Vada W. Hamilton of Kissemmee [sic], Fla.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Jay Clawson, who died Oct. 2, 1960; her parents; a brother, William Watt; six sisters: Effie, Ellen, Hazel, Cora, Betty, and Bertha.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn, where services will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. Rev. Steven Doughty will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
