Lois A. Bigelow, 81, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Wingate of East Longmeadow with her son Lester by her side. She was born in Springfield, MA to the late Ernest and Mildred (Miller) Dubour and was a graduate of the former Springfield Trade School. Lois was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in East Springfield and a member of the American Legion Post 420 Ladies Auxiliary. Family was Lois' greatest love and priority, simply put "Family first". Lois was employed as a cook for the Springfield School System for over 20 years before she retired. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lester F. Bigelow in 1984, her son in law John Duval in 2004 and her dear friend Al Orzulak. Lois is survived by her four loving children, Lester J. Bigelow and his wife, Marianne of East Longmeadow, Raymond L. Bigelow of Chelmsford, MA, James C. Bigelow of Plainville, CT and Mary A. Duval of Springfield, MA, her brothers John Dubour of Hollywood, FL, Jerry Dubour of Ludlow, Mike Dubour of Southampton, MA, David Dubour of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel Dubour of Margate, FL and Ronald Dubour of East Longmeadow, her sister Jean Gauger of Chico, CA and her four cherished grandchildren, John, Michelle, Alex and Matt. Lois was also predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, Ernest, Larry and Thomas Dubour and her sisters, Shirley Wiater, Norma Cortis and Janet Rojas. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St. Springfield, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick's Church, 1900 Allen St. Springfield. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St. Springfield, MA
