Lyle was one of six children. His parents were Alfred and Cora Packard. In 1919 Lyle married Violet Durant. They lived in Western Springs, Illinois. They had two children, a son and a daughter.
It is my understanding that Lyle died of a stroke. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered in Lake Michigan.
