Everett Hebron Gardiner, 82, died at 2:40 AM Monday, Oct. 6, 1980, at Americana Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient since July 13. Born at Clinton, IL, he was raised at Kankakee, IL, moving to Lafayette in 1928. His marriage was in 1955 to Blanche Lods, who survives.

Mr. Gardiner was employed by Indiana Gas Company for 34 years, retiring in 1962. He was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, and a past deacon of the church. A veteran of both World War I and World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 11, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Barricks 1144, at Sun City, AZ.

His wife is the only immediate survivor. Service Oct. 8, Zahn-Schneider Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Wick officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with American Legion military rites.
