Marie Yoder Thornburg, 88, of Decatur died on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Woodcrest Nursing Center. Marie was born in Decatur, IN on April 11, 1926 to the late Ross and Almira (Brown) LaTurner. She was preceded in death by husbands James R. Yoder and Harry “Dave” Thornburg.

Marie formerly attended Berne Evangelical Mennonite Church. She was members of the VFW and American Legion ladies Auxiliary in Avon Park, FL. She worked at the old Pioneer restaurant in Decatur and retired from the Sandwich Depot Restaurant in Avon Park, FL

She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Linda) Yoder of Decatur, IN; three daughters Carolyn (James) Baumer of Monroe, IN, Cathy Plasterer of Decatur, IN and Karen (James) Crandall of Columbia City, IN; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild due in June. She was preceded in death by a daughter Vickie Hurst; a granddaughter; two brothers; three sisters; and two sons-in-law Dan Plasterer and Steve Hurst.

Calling from 3:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home followed by a 7:30 p.m. service.

Burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1st at the Evangelical Church Cemetery in Berne.
