Bio: Mr. Kretzer lived most of his life in St. Joseph. He retired from Armour and Co. after 35 years of service and for Wells Fargo Security after 10 years. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5531 in Wathena, Kansas.

Death: Tuesday, Feb 25, 1997, at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 73 years.

Preceded in death by: his parents, a daughter, Mary L. Vaughn, three brothers, Thomas, John, and Melvin a half brother, William Welch; a sister, Mare Funk; two half sisters, Loa Franke and Minnie Lynch; and a grandchild.

Survived by; Wife, Verlea, of the home, three sons, Dallas Jr., Michael, and Curtis, all of St. Joseph, seven daughters, Kristy Smith and Sherry Coon, both of Denver, Pamela Stewart, Rita Wardlow, Billie Willenborg and Barbara Petty, all of St. Joseph; Connie Sessons, Sedalia, Mo; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
