Mary met Mitchell Franklin, a widowed veteran of the War Between the States, having served in the Union Army, Co. B. 5th TN Mtd. Infantry, and they were married in November of 1867 in White County, Georgia. Their children were Rebecca (Hunicutt), Rebecca, Celina, Agnes (Parker), Bell married John Henry Watson; George Raymond married Mary Ellen Buster and 2nd Thursy Price (Newton.)
Mitchell died in 1889, and Mary filed for a pension in August 1900. They were living in the Bonnie Community of Polk County, Tennessee at the time of his passing, but Mary soon moved out to Cookson Creek.
