NEWTON - Arnold E. Stahlheber, 62, died Sept. 29, 1989, at St. Lukes Hospital, Marion. Born March 21, 1927, at Newton, he married Lorene Foster Aug. 31, 1947, at Newton. He was a former employee of the Sante Fe Railroad, the Barbara Ann Bakery, in California, retired as an inventory control employee with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Wichita, and was a resident of Newton for most of his life.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Newton.

Survivors: wife, of the home; son, Scott Victorville, Calif.; daughters, Susan Grabaszewski, San Bernadino, Calif., Jane Stahlheber, San Diego; brother, Max, Stockton, Calif.; sister, Mabel Ketterer, Escondido, Calif., Florence Jantz, Newton, Lucile Betz, San Antonio, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Newton, the Rev. Gil Holstein. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Draper-Cannon Funeral Home, Newton. Memorials may go to the Elevator Fund at the church.
