Donald Arthur Black, son of Arthur and Sylvia Venn Black, was born September 4, 1933 in Jet, Oklahoma and passed away April 21, 2014 in Enid, at the age of 80 years. He suffered from a long illness of Parkinson 's disease and heart disease.

Don graduated from Jet High School with the class of 1952, and married the love of his life, Muriel Uldine Puffinbarger on May 20, 1953. They would have celebrated 61 years of marriage this May.

Upon moving to Enid to raise their family, Don worked primarily in the insurance and real estate businesses as proprietor of the Black Agency. Don was a realtor for over 50 years and served at the local, state, and national level. Don served as the Regional Director of Quail Unlimited. He was an avid hunter and an integral part in the establishment of the Quail Unlimited Chapter of Enid. Don was known to take his grandsons on their first hunting trip while still in diapers and carrying a bottle. He was often seen in the Enid elementary schools educating children about bird habitat and placing quail eggs and incubators in the classrooms for the children to observe the hatching. He received great joy from working with the teachers and children of Enid Public Schools.

Don's favorite part of life was his role of "PaPa." He spent countless hours teaching his grandchildren to hunt and fish while also attending their school events. His sense of humor, stories and family commitment will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Monroe and Sylvia Venn Black; his sister, Juanita Mae Black; brothers Davey Dee Black and Floyd Monroe Black.

He is survived family members and friends.

Instead of flowers, the family has selected the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Parkinson's Division as appropriate for memorial donations, with the Stittsworths coordinating.
