She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, David Whale; her second husband, Kenneth Houchens; her daughter, Hila Whale; 2 grandsons Michael Whale and David Vargas; her siblings, Arthur, Edward, George, Ernest, Amos, Albert, Brady, Truman, Horace, Delila, Viola, Laverne, Bula, Willie, Mary Inez, and infant sibling.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Glen David Whale and wife Barbie of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her daughter, Linda Whale Vargas and husband Cesar of Decatur; her son, Jerry Lee Whale and Sue Barr of Winchester, Virginia; her son, Kenneth George Houchens and wife Brenda of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
