Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Piquard was born in 1891 in Steeleville, and had lived in Murphysboro since 1916. Surviving siblings included Miss Jennie Harris of St. Louis and Mrs. Ernest Adams of Long Beach, CA.
The former Myrtle Ruth Harris, she married Albert John Piquard in 1918. He preceded her in death. She left one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ruth Adams of St. Louis.
Mrs. Piquard was a member of the First Methodist church of Murphysboro, the Eastern Star, the Royal Neighbors of America, and the Fireman Ladies Lodge.
She died at the age of 60 on Friday, August 1, 1952 at her Murphysboro home after a lengthy illness. Her funeral service was held at the First Methodist Church in Murphysboro. Rev. Clyde Funkhouser officiated. Roberts Residence Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
