Born in Kingston, he was a son of Kurt Santayana, Luzerne, and Debi Cometa Schimpf, Quakertown.
Eric was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, and was a 2002 graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School, Kingston. He also attended Bloomsburg University.
Eric was an intelligent young man with an inquisitive nature, a sharp wit and an adventurous spirit. His love of life led him to pursue many interests including music, travel, cooking, literature and art just to name a few.
He enjoyed meeting new people and traveled extensively across the country and around the world. His life was far too short but he lived every day to the fullest.
He made a lasting impression on everyone he met and was deeply loved by many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving in addition to his parents are stepfather, Walter Schimpf; stepmother, Sue Santayana; brother, Chase Santayana, Luzerne; sister, Alexandria Schimpf, Quakertown; maternal grandparents, Salvatore and Barbara Cometa, Kingston; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Yolanda Santayana, Luzerne; cousins, Alyssa and Stephen Munster; Morgan and Amy Santayana; Gabriel and Elizabeth Becker; aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Memorial St., Exeter, with the Rev. Daniel Schwebbs, officiating.
Interment will be in Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Friends may call Monday 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 8:30 a.m. until time of services.
