He was the son of James & Mary (Ludden) Puffer.

He married Mary Glazier, 3 Dec 1702. Braintree, Massachusetts. He and his wife joined the church there the 21st day of May 1704.

He was a boatman and resided at Ship Cove, now Quincy Neck. He sold to John Ruggles 4 acres of upland and meadow called the fence field, near the house of Ruggles. The deed was signed, by Jazeb and wife Mary, on the 29th of May 1712.

He bought land in Sudbury and moved his family there. His farm was in the Northeast part of Sudbury in what is now called Maynard near Puffer's Pond.

Captain of the Sudbury militia company.
