Joyce Ann Stebing, six-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stebing of 1613 Sprott street, Auburn, died shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday at the family home from double pneumonia.
The baby became ill last Thursday, but appeared to be recovering Tuesday night. Early Wednesday, she became critically ill and died soon after her father had gone to work at an Auburn factory.
The Stebings have three other children, Judy Alberta, 6, Jerry Allen, 4 and Jeannie, 2.
Joyce was born Sept. 15 at the Dr. J. A. Sanders hospital in Auburn.
Surviving besides the two sisters, the brother and the parents, are the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stebing of 1516 Sprott street, Auburn. The maternal grandfather, the late Alvin Casselman, died several months ago in Mississippi.
The body of the child was removed to the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn where it will remain until funeral rites are conducted at 2 p.m Friday. The Rev. Ralph Ferguson of near Auburn will officiate at the services with burial in Roselawn cemetery.
