On July 7, 1900 Mrs. Mary Schissler, 90 years old, widow of Mr. George Schissler, died Saturday at the home of her son-in-law, Patrolman Louis Green, 2108 Pennsylvania avenue. Her health had been failing for some time, but it is thought that the end was hastened by the death of her granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Miller, from burns received June 23, as a result of an explosion of a gasoline stove. Mrs. Schissler was a woman of remarkable vitality. Her hair retained its natural auburn color, her faculties were alert, and up to a few months ago she attended to her household duties with her accustomed thoroughness and regularity. Her husband died nine years ago at the age of 82 years. Mrs. Schissler was a native of Germany, but had lived in Baltimore 61 years. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Eidman, Mrs. Kate Green and Miss Elizabeth Schissler-seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
