Katie was born in Winchester, Kentucky on Thursday, July 27th, 1922, daughter of the late James Tinsley "Hence" Estepp and Nancy Ann "Nannie" Combs Estepp. Katie was a member of the Chevy Chase Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. She worked as a machinist for Carbide Products.
Katie was survived by two sons, Everett Horton (and Jeanette) Wethington and Michael W. (and Teresa) Wethington; two daughters, Evelyn Mae (and Virgil) Smith and Wanda Marie (and Mike) Moore; one sister, Mary Wethington; two daughter-in-laws, Brenda Wethington and Rita Wethington; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Orval Wethington Sr, whom she married on September 5th, 1936; two sons, David Orval Wethington and Jackie Dean Wethington; one daughter, Nellie Cleo Sands; her parents, James Tinsley "Hence" Estepp, who departed this life on July 2nd, 1959 and Nancy Ann "Nannie" Estepp, who departed this life on November 5th, 1951; two brothers, Willie Estepp and Ernest Lee Estepp; and two sisters, Emma Wells and Harriett Baes.
Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Monday, April 21st, 2014 at the Nancy Funeral Home in Nancy, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 21st, 2014 in the Chapel of the Nancy Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene Tartar officiating.
Interment followed in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky.
