Michael D. Finan, 68, of 451 McCalmont Road, Renfrew, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Butler, April 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Gertrude Bauldauf Finan.
He was an Army veteran and retired in 1993 as a steelworker at Armco-Butler Works after 37 years.
Mr. Finan was an avid fan of Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and Notre Dame football.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian.
Surviving are his wife, Carol A. Pappas Finan; two sons; two daughter; a brother; and two sisters.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
FINAN - Friends of Michael D. Finan, who died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery
Members of St. Fidelis Parish will conduct a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by VFW Post 249.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Study at the University of Pittsburgh or to the St. Fidelis Building Fund, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, PA 16001.
