Rome Daily Sentinel October 22, 1918
MARVIN SCOUTEN, aged about 50 years, died after a few days illness and was taken the next day to Steuben for burial. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, who live elsewhere, a daughter, Edna, of Boonville, four sons who live at home, Emmet, Oliver, Vernon and Walter, also by a brother, William of West Branch. Much sympathy is extended to the whole family who were ill at the time of the death and burial of the father.
