George and Elizabeth had six children (per her reply to the 1900 census), but I only have the names of five daughters: Jane Minerva Litaker (1853-1934, m. James Robert Wilhelm), Sarah M. Litaker (1855-1903, m. Guion Haywood Weddington), Margaret Angeline Litaker (1857-1936, m. Peter J. Cress), Nancy E. Litaker (1859-1939, m. Thomas Alexander Albright) and Harriet Ellen Litaker (1862-1946, never married).
George E. Litaker, age 34, a farmer, enlisted in the Confederate Army on 7 July 1862, in Rowan Co., NC. He was assigned to Co. K, 57th NC Regiment, CSA on 17 July 1862. He was killed at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia on 13 Dec. 1862. His burial place is unknown.
