Her actual date & place of birth are unsure. Margaret Goddard (Annals of an Allen Family) states that her maiden name was rumored to be Morton, born in Alabama, but that she had no proof. A birth date of 1792 would have made her 17 at the birth of her first child, John, (15 or 16 at her marriage.) That would not be unheard of, but there are no records of her birth.
