FIELDEN, IONE W. - age 88, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Tennova Residential Hospice. Ione was a member of the National Interior Design Society and a founding member of the East Tennessee Interior Design Society. She was also an officer of Fielden Furniture Company and in her spare time taught computer classes at O'Connor Senior Center. She enjoyed hiking as a long-time member of the Happy Hikers Club. Ione's passions were gardening, boating, and most importantly, caring for her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone in her life. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. Her final words of wisdom to her grandchildren were "make life a fun experience!" Preceded in death by husband, Joe E. Fielden; son, Ed Fielden; granddaughter, Courtney Beth Fielden; parents, Rev. Ira E. and Lillian B. Wishart; siblings, Octa, U.B., Lowell, Eldon and Paul. Survivors: children, Steve, Tom and Mike and his wife, Jean Fielden; grandchildren, Matt, Lindsay and her husband Owen Hill, Kurt and his wife Marie, Katie and Spencer Fielden; great grandchildren, Hudson Hill, Isaiah and Gracie Fielden. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment with Rev. Ron Mouser officiating. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Ijams Nature Center from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ijams Nature Center at ijams.org/give/memorials-honorariums or Friends of the Smokies at friendsofthesmokies.org/donations. The family would like give a special thanks to the caring staff at Atria Weston Place and Tennova Residential Hospice. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
