Funeral services for Delevan H. Bighley, formerly of Glenville, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Reverend David Hernes will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville. Visitation will be from 4-9 on Thursday at Bonnerup & Son Funeral Chapel in Albert Lea. Delevan died at his home Monday morning October 2, at the age of 85. Mr. Bighley was born December 31, 1900, on a farm near Glenville, the son of Hampton and Etta Bighley. He married Thelma Thorson Jun 10, 1931 in Glenville. Delevan lived on the farm where he was born for 82 of his 85 years. Due to ill health Delevan and his wife Thelma left the farm to live in an apartment in Albert Lea in 1983. He is survived by his wife Thelma and one son Lyle. Lyle and his wife Sharon live in the Kansas City area. He is also survived by one grandchild, Lyle and Sharon's daughter, Beth. Delevan has one niece, Charlotte Burkhard of Palatine, Illinois, and one nephew, Gerald Davison of Chula Vista, California. Mr. Bighley is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Cecil Davison.
