OBITUARY-
AUSTIN -- The funeral for Albert D. Adams will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Matt officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Olaf B. Damm VFW of Austin.
Mr. Adams, 67, of 1204 11th St. N.W., died Friday (March 15, 1996) at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis.

He was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Austin and grew up there. He attended the Catholic elementary school and Austin High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1953, he worked as a Merchant Marine for the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes and later worked for the Department of the Navy Sealift Command, traveling all over the world on various assignments. Mr. Adams received the Merchant Marine Expeditionary Award and was commended for meritorious service in 1992. He retired in 1993.

He is survived by three daughters, Julie Thompson of Aptos, Calif., Gina LeDoux and Laurie Adams, both of Austin; two sons, Anthony of Austin and Mark of Santa Ana, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Julia Adams of Austin; and two sisters, Donna (Mrs. Lawrence) Sweazey of Austin and Judy Stancl of Rochester.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and from 9 a.m. until the service on Tuesday.
