MRS. HATTIE BESST
Mrs. Hattie Besst, 72, of 1398 Maple street, widow of Alva Besst, died Sunday morning at Mercy hospital. She had been ill the last year. Friends may call at the Haudenshield funeral home, 2170 Central avenue, from where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to St Mary's church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Besst was born Sept. 18, 1879, at Greeley. She had lived in Dubuque since 1925 and was a
member of St. Mary's parish here. She was educated in Greeley schools.
Surviving are four daughters, Miss Martha Besst, of Chicago, and Mrs. Adolph (Gladys) Davis, Miss Opal Besst, and Mrs. Ralph (Maybelle) Klecker, all of Dubuque; six sons, Ira and Orva Besst, of Dubuque, and Norman, Herman, Ernest and Dawson Besst, of Chicago; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Bowers, of Cedar Rapids, la., and a brother, Samuel Hook, of Davenport, Ia.
Her husband died July 3, 1931.
