LOVINGTON, N.M. — Memorial services for Darrell Atchley, 64, of Lovington will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Heath Ormord officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home of Lovington.
He died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002.
He was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Clayton, N.M., and married Frances Untiedt on Sept. 19, 1959, in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death. He married Carolyn Roland on June 23, 1999, in Hawaii.
He was founder and owner of Atchley Chiropractic Center and celebrated 40 years in business two years ago. He was past president of the Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
He served as chairman of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and was past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the New Mexico Chiropractic Association. He was a past president of Methodist Men and served on the City Commission for nine years.
A son, Bart, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Sara Wierman of Coppell; stepson, Wes Goff of Lovington; stepdaughter, Michelle Goff of Roswell, N.M.; father, John of Portales, N.M.; a sister, Karel Smith of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Dr. Darrell and Bartlett Atchley Scholarship Fund of the New Mexico Chiropractic Association, 8004 Pennsylvania Circle N.E., Albuquerque, NM 87110; Kentuckiana Children's Center, P.O.
