William "Mac" T. McCann, age 90, was a longtime Ada resident. He was born on November 26, 1923, to Johnny and Lela (Brannon) McCann, at Stamford, TX. Mac passed away on April 14, 2014 at Coalgate, OK. He was a welder. He moved to Oklahoma in 1965 with his family. He worked briefly for Reeves Packing as a mechanic and later worked for Spencer Machine Works as a machinist & welder until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received 3 bronze stars as a sharp shooter. He married Wanda O. (Smith) on Dec. 15, 1960 in Lawrenceburg, N.M. Mac was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centrahoma, OK. He moved to Oklahoma in 1965 with his family. He worked briefly for Reeves Packing as a mechanic and later worked for Spencer Machine Works as a machinist & welder until his retirement. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He liked to plant a garden. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, A. J., Will and Buddy McCann. Services will be April 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate, OK. Rev. Bob Graham will officiate. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK.
