25 Jan 1962: Dr. Marshall W. Ditzler, 47, 539 E. Market Street, York, died suddenly Wednesday noon at his home. He was a former resident of Jonestown. He had practiced medicine in York since 1952. Prior to that, he had practiced medicine in Lebanon County from 1950 to 1952. He was a graduate of Jonestown High School, class of 1931; Lebanon Valley College, class of 1935; and the George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC, in 1949. He interned at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Philadelphia. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. He was a member of Sattazahn Lutheran Church, near Green Point, Lebanon Co.; Pennsylvania & York County Medical Societies; and Ephrata American Legion. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lillie M. Ditzler, of Jonestown RD 2; and four sisters, Miss Florence G. Ditzler, of Jonestown RD 2; Esther M., wife of Dr. Edward L. Jones, of Lebanon; Margaret D., wife of Paul A. Behney, of Lebanon; and Miss Gladys Ditzler, R.N., of York. His father was the late Marshall Ditzler. [Lebanon Daily News]
