KOHALA MAN DIES.

News came last week that Mr. Achilles had quietly passed away, in the sanatorium in Honolulu. He died of heart failure. His remains were cremated, a funeral service being held by Rev. Mr. Ebersole in the mortuary chapel.

Mr. Achilles came to Kohala about seven years ago as manager of the bank. He had been previously known to some of our citizens on Oahu, where he had held positions of responsibility. In all his business career he was efficient and honorable. The little bank here developed a relatively large volume of business under his careful management. He proved himself to be a model neighbor, a courteous, kind Christian gentleman, in all his walk among us.

He was a member of the Kohala Civic League, a trustee of Union Church, treasurer of Kohala Girls' school, and managed the Traveling Library, from Honolulu.

He will be missed in all these relationships and in the community at large. Mrs. Achilles and the three little children have the deepest sympathies of this community. --Kohala Midget.
