Martha was the daughter of William and Mary Ball Badger. She was born in Reading and married Walter Scott Parker on June 8, 1870. They were the parents of six children, three sons, Harold, Dr. Ralph, and Robert Parker, and three daughters, Mrs. Grace Clough, Mrs. Florence Young and Mrs. Isabelle Kissock. She was also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Martha was a Christian woman with an exceptionally sunny disposition, sympathetic and kind to relatives and neighbors and dearly loved by family and friends. She was uncomplaining and cheerful in spite of being almost completely deaf for many years. ( From Reading Chronicle, Necrology.)
